Hands-on Japanese calligraphy experience

In this plan, you can experience Japanese calligraphy Shodo in a small house in Nagoya, Aichi prefecture. Our classroom is a six-minute walk from the nearest station.
Single guests are welcome!

Lesson Flow of Shodo calligraphy class
1. Choose a kanji sample you would like to write with the brush.
2. Explanation of the names and how to use the calligraphy tools. 
3. Let's try making the ink by rubbing an ink stick yourself! Enjoy the aroma and sounds.
4. Practice repeatedly the kanji you chose on papers until you are satisfied.
5. Write it on a Japanese paper board Shikishi as a clean copy.
6. While waiting for the ink on your work to dry, let's take a tour of the gallery.
7. Take your work home in a non-woven bag with our logo on it. And this experience includes a simple plastic case for it so you can display it at home after you return home!

Duration is 2～2.5 hours.
